I hope you have all been enjoying having a drink in our beer garden/spikes bar over the last few weeks, the weather has been fantastic and the atmosphere has been great. A big thanks to all our members for your understanding and patience with all the COVID 19 regulations, it is not ideal but we are now heading towards the re-opening of our clubhouse, I know you are all keen to check out what has been done during the closure.
I am pleased to advise that we will have a Grand Opening on Saturday 11th July, please save the date and stay tuned for further details.
Our club raffle has been going well and due to the cancellation of the ProAm, the raffle will be drawn at our re-opening on 11 July. Tickets are still available to win your 2021 membership, see Lea for tickets.
Sadly, I have been asked by the family of Graham Richardson to advise you all of his passing last Wednesday evening. Graham has been a member of our club for over 11 years and although he has been quite unwell, it was quite a shock to some of us, as he was playing golf only the week before. Our thoughts are with his wife Joan and his family.
A quick update on our staffing situation, I am pleased to advise that Jason Voros has accepted a position in our office, sadly this has meant that he has stood down as our House Director, however he brings with him a wealth of golf knowledge and sales skills. Jason will be in the office on Monday’s and Wednesday’s as our Member Liaison Officer. It was great to welcome Elle back a couple of Saturdays ago and we look forward to having her back again from this Thursday. We are looking to expand on our food and beverage team and have recently advertised locally for staff.

Our Club Captain has certainly been kept on his toes over the last few months with arranging the tee bookings during this uncertain time, please find below an update from Graham regarding tee bookings, two tee start and a new competition.

As restrictions are being eased and we are more certain about requirements further in advance , we can now move back towards booking 2 weeks ahead. This cannot be done in one go, we need to schedule the move over a couple of weeks so that the system does not get overwhelmed and cause us all a load of grief.

Traditionally the Thursday timesheet has been dedicated to the Ladies Competition. Due to high demand, there has been some interest in having a Men’s competition to follow after the Ladies. As a trial, from 25th June there will be a men’s competition to take up these normally unused slots. The trial will be for about a month to gauge the level of interest after which time a decision will be made on whether to continue or not
